    Gift Aid explained

If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid offers a simple way to increase the value of your gift to charity by allowing the charity to reclaim the tax on your gift.
For example, if you donate £20 we can claim an extra £5, making your gift worth £25.
You simply need to have paid or will pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax that is at least equal to the tax that Noor Trust will reclaim on your donations in a tax year.
If you pay higher rate tax, you can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax 40 and/or 45 per cent and the basic rate of tax 20 per cent on the total ‘gross’ value of your donation to the charity.
For example, if you donate £100, the total value of your donation to the charity is £125 – so you can claim back:
    £25 – if you pay tax at 40 per cent (£125 × 20%)
    £31.25 – if you pay tax at 45 per cent (£125 × 20%) plus (£125 × 5%)
If you already donate to us and want to check that you are gift aiding your donations then please call us on 020 8204 1167

    Further information

The Gift Aid guidelines require a Gift Aid Declaration Form to be completed. It provides us with the data we need to be able to claim Gift Aid on a donation.
Gift Aid can be claimed on individual donations and sponsorships made to Noor Orphans Fund.
Gift Aid applies only to ‘gifts’. It does not apply to activities where an entry fee has been charged. This also extends to activities where the donor can’t be traced (such as giving to collections).
To ensure we can claim the money back, it’s crucial that all the information asked for on the declaration is provided.

You can find more information about Gift Aid here.

    • Direct from Your Salary

If your employer offers it, making donations directly from your salary (also known as payroll giving) is an easy way to give that guarantees us regular donations.

Payroll giving differs from Gift Aid in that under payroll giving you get all the tax relief on your donation, instead of the 20% basic rate being repaid to the charity. The money is deducted from your salary before tax, so basic taxpayers pay only 80p for every pound donated, whilst higher rate tax payers but only 60p, and top rate tax payers just 55p.

Before setting it up you must first check that your employer offers a payroll giving scheme. Once you have enrolled with the scheme an agreed amount is deducted from your salary each month and paid to payroll giving agency who administers the scheme on the employer’s behalf. All the payroll giving agency needs is our account number: 16167090 and sort code: 60-12-17.
