Arba’een is fast approaching and Syed Akram is a man on a mission – to run the 80 kilometres from Najaf to Karbala in just 14 hours. Whizzing past the walking pilgrims who’ll be taking their usual two to three days to complete the journey, Syed Akram will be raising money for the Noor Orphans Fund Education Scheme (click here to find out more). Visit his JustGiving campaign page here:
Together, we’ve raised over £5,000 so far. This is a really fantastic amount and will go far towards supporting the orphans of Iraq. But there is still a long way to go if Syed Akram is going to reach his target of £14,000. Please dig deep in your pockets and donate now to make this possible. But don’t stop there – spread the word, tell your friends and family about Syed Akram’s noble mission. Let’s all pull together to reach that £14,000 mark and make a difference to the lives of the 1,400 orphans it will support.
There are a couple of ways in which you can donate. You can donate online by visiting the JustGiving campaign page and donating as much as you want. However, if you prefer you can also donate by text – simply text “SYED14 £10″ to donate £10, or “SYED14 £5″ to donate £5, to 70070. Remember, everything you donate goes to help the orphans, giving them a chance to build better futures for themselves and pull themselves out of poverty.Leave a reply →
